If you want a BrightLocal alternative for running Google Business Profiles, ZeusSEO Gaia is built for that one job: scheduling and bulk-posting updates, replying to Google reviews, editing listing details, and fixing issues across many locations, including from Claude through our free connector. If you need a wider local SEO toolkit, BrightLocal is the better choice. It tracks local rankings, runs a local search grid, builds and syncs citations, collects reviews by email and SMS, and tracks AI visibility. Gaia covers Google Business Profile only. Use Gaia to manage the profiles and BrightLocal to measure and build the footprint around them. You could also use both.
Gaia goes deeper on Google Business Profile management and Claude workflows. BrightLocal goes wider across rankings, citations, review collection and AI visibility. They are different shapes of tool, so the right pick depends on which job is yours.

BrightLocal gates features by plan. Post scheduling starts at Manage and review tools start at Grow, so a fair comparison with Gaia uses Grow. Plans, limits and prices change on both sides, so confirm on the live pages before you decide.
Managing Google Business Profiles
Both tools schedule Google posts across locations. Gaia also edits listing details, photos and attributes in bulk and can be driven from Claude. BrightLocal's strength is the work around the profile, not the editing of it.
Posts and the calendar
Gaia publishes a post now, schedules it, edits queued posts, cancels, trashes and restores them. It covers Updates, Offers, Events and Alerts. You can copy a post to many locations with an optional AI rewrite per location, import posts from a CSV or text file, republish posts Google no longer shows, and run recurring post campaigns on a cadence. A calendar shows every scheduled post and photo across your listings.
BrightLocal also schedules posts, and its platform page describes scheduling across multiple locations at once. Its post scheduler launch article (from June 2023) describes captions, images, buttons, start and end dates, a bulk post option and AI-assisted captions. That article is older, so treat its details as a guide to the feature rather than a current spec. Per the pricing page, scheduling is part of the Manage plan.
Photos, listing details and bulk fixes
This is where Gaia spends most of its effort. In Gaia you can:
- Edit listing details such as name, website, phones, description, hours, special hours and categories, now or on a future effective date. Renaming a listing shows a re-verification warning.
- Manage attributes, services, place-action links and social links from the same tool.
- Upload photos to many listings at once, now or on a schedule.
- Fix one issue across many profiles in a single pass, and clone profile information or saved location templates to other locations.
- Create a new location and use groups to run bulk actions on a set of clients.
- Keep an audit trail of every live write to a Google profile.
On BrightLocal, we found a GBP Audit in the Track plan and Active Sync for pushing listing data to directories (platform, listings). We did not find bulk editing of Google profile fields such as categories or attributes described on its public pages, so we do not claim either way.
Working from Claude
ZeusSEO includes a connector for Claude, free with every pack. It exposes about 200 tools covering Google Business Profile posts, reviews, photos, listing details, services, attributes and groups, plus Search Console, GA4, reports, clients and keyword research. The chat runs on your own Claude subscription. You can ask Claude to find listings with a problem, draft and schedule posts, or pull review stats, and the actions run against your connected Google account.
AI-written content and a few research lookups spend Staters, our prepaid credits, which packs do not include. The connector states a cost before it spends anything. See pricing for current terms. BrightLocal's platform page lists an MCP Server by name; we found no description of what it covers.
Review management
For answering Google reviews at scale, the two are comparable. For asking customers for reviews and watching reviews on other sites, BrightLocal does things Gaia does not.
What Gaia does with reviews
- One feed for reviews across all your locations.
- Reply, edit or delete a reply on Google reviews.
- AI reply drafts that follow the client's saved voice. They are drafts you approve, not automatic replies, and they spend Staters.
- Bulk replies from a CSV and an export of replies.
- Spam guard: reviews labelled spam are skipped unless you force the reply.
- Failed replies are parked in a queue and retried automatically.
Gaia works with Google reviews only. It gives you Google's own review link for each listing, but it does not send review requests by email or SMS.
What BrightLocal does with reviews
According to its Reputation Manager page, you can reply to Google and Facebook reviews from inside BrightLocal, monitor reviews from 80+ sites, get AI-drafted replies, and request reviews by email, SMS and QR code. The pricing page places these review tools in the Grow plan. The platform page adds a multi-location dashboard aimed at franchises.
Where BrightLocal is stronger
BrightLocal covers four areas Gaia does not: citations and listings syndication, local rank tracking with a grid, review collection and monitoring beyond Google, and AI visibility tracking. If any of these is your main need, choose BrightLocal.
Citations and listings
BrightLocal's Citation Builder is pay-as-you-go, from $2 per citation when bought in bulk and $3.20 without bulk credits, across 1,000+ sites and directories, and it can be white-labeled for agencies. Active Sync pushes listing data to Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Bing and Yelp (Yelp in the US and Canada) and is included from the Manage plan. Gaia has no citation building, no directory syndication, and no listing management on Apple, Bing, Facebook or Yelp.
Rank tracking and the local grid
BrightLocal's Local Rank Tracker follows up to 100 keywords and up to four competitors across Google Search, Google Maps and Bing. Its Local Search Grid offers grids up to 15x15, and the pricing page lists a geo-grid for up to five keywords on Track. Gaia does not offer local grid rank tracking today.
AI visibility
BrightLocal's Local AI Visibility Tracker follows prompts in Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, up to 20 prompts per location, with competitor mention rate and share of voice. It is part of all three plans. Its AI Insights feature scores each location to show which need attention first (reporting tools article). AI visibility tracking is not part of Gaia.
Agency features
The agencies page lists unlimited users per account, your own logo and colors on reports, bulk actions, and a white-label audit widget you can embed on your own site to capture leads. A customizable client dashboard lets you control what each client sees. ZeusSEO caps seats per pack and has no client portal on sale, and white label is not part of Gaia. BrightLocal also sells a managed local SEO service at $1,299 a month on a twelve-month basis, if you want it done for you.
On reporting, ZeusSEO's separate Reports Package is a drag-and-drop report builder using Google Business Profile, GA4 and Search Console data. It does not include paid-ads data, so teams that report on ad platforms should look elsewhere.
Pricing and free trial
BrightLocal charges by plan and location band, so cost rises as you add locations. ZeusSEO sells packs with fixed caps and add-ons beyond them. The two are not like for like, because BrightLocal's price also buys rank tracking, citations and AI visibility.
BrightLocal pricing
From its pricing page, for one location on annual billing: Track is $31 per month, Manage is $40 and Grow is $49. Monthly billing costs more. Prices climb with location bands. Examples for the Grow plan, which has the review tools:
- 11 to 20 locations: $197 per month on monthly billing, or $1,772 per year on annual billing.
- 41 to 50 locations: $494 per month on monthly billing, or $4,445 per year on annual billing.
- Over 100 locations: price on request on every plan.
Citation Builder, the API and the managed service are priced separately.
ZeusSEO pricing
Gaia is part of the Local SEO Pack, which includes 50 locations, three sites and five seats. Extra locations, seats and sites are sold as add-ons. Prices are shown live, so see current prices on the pricing page. AI actions use Staters, which you buy separately because packs include none. The Claude connector is included free with every pack.
Free trial
BrightLocal offers a two-week free trial with no credit card required, with all features (pricing, agencies). Every ZeusSEO pack also has a free trial; the current terms are on the pricing page.
BrightLocal competitors: which to choose
The right BrightLocal alternative depends on what you need: local rank tracking, multi-location profile management, or a client-facing reporting layer. We compare the main options in separate pages: Gaia vs Yext, Gaia vs Birdeye, BrightLocal vs Yext vs Gaia and Birdeye vs Yext vs Gaia. The full list is on the compare hub.
Choose ZeusSEO Gaia if
- Your main work is Google Business Profile posting, replies and listing edits across many locations.
- You want to run that work from Claude with the free connector.
- You are fine handling citations, rank tracking and review requests elsewhere, or not at all.
Choose BrightLocal if
- You need local rank tracking, a local search grid or AI visibility tracking.
- You need citation building or listing sync to Apple Maps, Bing, Facebook or Yelp.
- You want to collect reviews by email or SMS, or monitor reviews from other sites.
- You want unlimited users and a white-label client dashboard.
Use both
Because the overlap is mostly posting and review replies, you could keep BrightLocal for measurement and citations and use Gaia for day-to-day profile management. If you switch, your Google profiles stay with Google, not with either tool. Connect your Google account to Gaia, and save any BrightLocal reports you want to keep before you cancel.
How we compared
On October 20, 2026 we read BrightLocal's official pages, listed under Sources below. Every BrightLocal claim here links to the page it came from. Where a page did not say, we wrote "not published" instead of guessing. We did not use its help-center articles.
ZeusSEO facts come from our own product and code. We did not run side-by-side performance tests, and we do not cite customers or screenshots. We are ZeusSEO, so we are biased. Check the sources yourself, and tell us if a detail is out of date.
