Comparison

BrightLocal vs Whitespark vs ZeusSEO Gaia: which fits your local SEO work?

TL;DR
  • BrightLocal is the simpler pick if you want one self-serve suite: three plans, a two-week free trial with no card, and rank tracking, listing sync, post scheduling and review tools under one login.
  • Whitespark is a set of separate products with public prices and low entry points, strongest on citations, rank tracking, grids and review requests; it is the better fit if you only want to buy the pieces you need.
  • ZeusSEO Gaia is narrower than both: Google Business Profile only, with no citations, rank tracking or review requests, but strong bulk posting, review replies and profile edits, plus a free Claude connector.

BrightLocal vs Whitespark comes down to how you want to buy. BrightLocal is one self-serve suite with three plans (Track, Manage, Grow), a two-week free trial with no card, and rank tracking, listing sync, post scheduling and review tools under one login. Whitespark is a family of separate products, each with its own public price: profile management, a rank tracker, ranking grids, a citation finder and a review tool. Pick BrightLocal for one bill and one dashboard. Pick Whitespark for low entry prices when you only need a piece or two. We are ZeusSEO, so we add a third column, Gaia, our Google Business Profile tool. It is narrower than both, and we say where. We are biased, so every competitor claim links to its source.

BrightLocal vs Whitespark vs ZeusSEO Gaia at a glance

Key takeaway

BrightLocal and Whitespark both go wider than Google: citations, rank tracking, grids and review requests. Gaia goes deeper on Google Business Profile only. The real difference between the two rivals is packaging: one suite with plans, or separate products billed separately.

How we compared

We read each vendor's official pages: BrightLocal's on October 20, 2026 and Whitespark's on October 21, 2026. We looked at pricing, product, agency and listings pages. ZeusSEO facts come from our own product, not from a test of the competitors. We did not sign up for either rival or run side-by-side tests, and we have no customer results to show.

We are ZeusSEO, so we are biased, and you should check the sources at the end. Both vendors' pages were read through a summarizer, so we paraphrase rather than quote.

Note

Where a fact was unclear, came from an older article or was not on the pages we read, we left it out or wrote "not published". That is not proof a feature is missing; ask the vendor. BrightLocal's help center was not readable to us, so limits that live only there are not covered. Prices and features change, so confirm on each vendor's site before you buy.

Pricing and free trial

Key takeaway

Both rivals publish prices. BrightLocal bundles more into each plan and has a single trial. Whitespark has lower entry prices per product, but a full stack means several subscriptions, each with its own trial rules.

BrightLocal

BrightLocal publishes three plans, Track, Manage and Grow, priced by location band. For one location, annual billing is $31 a month on Track, $40 on Manage and $49 on Grow; monthly billing is $41, $54 and $65. Prices rise with the number of locations, and above 100 locations it is price on request, all on its pricing page.

What you get depends on the plan. Track covers rank tracking, a geo-grid on a handful of keywords, citation monitoring and Google Business Profile audits. Manage adds listing sync and post scheduling. Grow adds the review tools. The two-week free trial needs no credit card and is confirmed on the agencies page.

Two extras sit outside the plans. Citation Builder is pay-per-citation, from $2 per citation when bought in bulk. A managed local SEO service starts at $1,299 a month on a 12-month basis (details).

Whitespark

Whitespark's pricing page lists each product separately, in US dollars:

  • Local Platform: $1 per month per location, billed annually (source).
  • Local Rank Tracker: plans from $14 to $200 a month; weekly tracking on the lower plans, daily tracking costs more (source).
  • Local Ranking Grids: credit based, from $10 for 2,000 credits; unused credits expire after each billing period (source).
  • Local Citation Finder: plans from $33 to $149 a month (source).
  • Reputation Builder: $79 per month per location, with custom pricing for several locations (source).
  • Listings Service: done-for-you, one-time fees per location (source).

Trials differ by product. The pages describe a two-week free trial for Rank Tracker and for Reputation Builder, the latter limited to ten locations. Ranking Grids offers two hundred trial credits with no credit card. We found no trial stated for Local Platform.

ZeusSEO Gaia

Gaia is part of our Local SEO Pack, which includes 50 locations, 3 sites and 5 seats, with stackable add-ons for more. AI actions spend Staters, which you buy separately in one-time packs; the packs include none. We do not list prices here because they change. See current prices on the pricing page, where you can also start a free trial.

Where Whitespark is stronger

On price per piece, Whitespark is hard to beat: $1 per location per month for profile management and $14 a month for a rank tracker are public entry points. If you need exactly one of those jobs, you may pay less than a bundled plan.

Google Business Profile management

Key takeaway

If your week is posting, replying and editing profiles across many locations, compare the Google Business Profile features first. That is the one area where Gaia competes head to head with both.

Posts

BrightLocal lets you schedule Google Business Profile posts (Updates, Offers and Events) and create a bulk post across two or more locations. Its own announcement also describes AI-generated captions (a June 2023 article). Scheduling sits in the Manage plan, and the platform page describes scheduling across multiple locations at once.

Whitespark's Local Platform page describes profile management but does not mention publishing or scheduling Google posts. If posting is your main need, ask Whitespark directly.

In Gaia you can publish now or schedule, edit or cancel queued posts, clone a post to many locations with an optional AI rewrite per location, import posts from a CSV or text file, and run recurring post campaigns. A calendar shows every scheduled post and photo across listings.

Profile edits

Gaia edits names, hours, phone numbers, categories, website and description across listings, now or on a future date. Attributes, services and links are editable too, photos can go to many listings now or on a schedule, and every live write is logged.

Whitespark's Local Platform describes bulk edits to hours, description, categories, services and phone, email alerts when a profile changes, one-click rejection of unwanted Google updates, and change history by you, Google or other managers. We did not find a bulk hours or photo editor described on the BrightLocal pages we read, but that is not proof it lacks one.

Where Whitespark is stronger

Local Platform can reject unwanted changes that Google makes to a profile and shows who changed what, including Google itself. Gaia logs every live write made through ZeusSEO, but we do not claim to track edits made by Google or other managers.

Reviews

BrightLocal's reputation tools let you reply to Google and Facebook reviews in the app, monitor reviews from 80+ sites, use an AI assistant for drafts and send requests by email, SMS or QR code. They sit in the Grow plan (source).

Whitespark handles reviews in Reputation Builder, a separate product: automated requests by email or SMS, monitoring of 100+ review sites, and replies from the dashboard, with direct replies on Google and Facebook. At the entry level that is $79 per location per month for reviews alone, against $49 a month for BrightLocal Grow, which bundles the review tools with the rest of the suite.

Gaia covers Google reviews only. You get one feed across locations, reply, edit and delete, and AI reply drafts that you approve before anything posts. Spam-labelled reviews are blocked by default, and a failed reply is parked and retried. You can also bulk-reply from a reviewed CSV. Gaia does not send review requests; it gives you Google's own review link for each listing.

Citations and listings

Key takeaway

This is where both rivals go beyond Gaia. They differ in method: BrightLocal sells software (sync and a pay-per-citation builder), while Whitespark leans on research tools and done-for-you service.

BrightLocal covers this in two ways. Active Sync pushes your data to Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Bing and Yelp (US and Canada) in the Manage plan and above (source). Citation Builder sells citations on more than 1,000 sites and directories, paid per citation, and can be white-labeled for agencies.

Whitespark's Local Citation Finder is a research and audit tool: it analyzes competitor citations, tracks citation growth on paid plans and exports to CSV and PDF. Its Listings Service is a done-for-you service that builds and cleans up citations, sold as one-time fees. We found no always-on listings sync subscription on the pages we read.

ZeusSEO does neither. Gaia manages Google Business Profile only: no citation building, no directory syndication, and no Apple Business Connect, Bing Places or Yelp management. If your clients need those, use BrightLocal or Whitespark for that layer and Gaia for Google.

Rank tracking, reporting, white label and AI

Where BrightLocal is stronger

BrightLocal puts rank tracking, a local search grid, citations, listing sync and reviews under one login, with unlimited users per account on the agencies page and franchise roll-up reports on the platform page. If you want one suite and one bill, it is the more complete package of the two.

Rank tracking and grids

BrightLocal's Local Rank Tracker follows 100 keywords and 4 competitors across Google Search, Google Maps and Bing. Its Local Search Grid comes in sizes from 3x3 to 15x15.

Whitespark sells the two as separate products. Local Rank Tracker separates local pack, local finder and organic results. Local Ranking Grids is credit based with 4 to 225 points per scan, and the page says it offers an importer for BrightLocal campaigns. Whitespark also publishes its own BrightLocal comparison; those are vendor claims we did not verify.

Gaia has no rank tracking or grid scans available to customers today.

Reporting and white label

BrightLocal describes white-label reports with your own logo and colors, a customizable client dashboard, and integrations with GA4, Google Business Profile, Facebook and Zapier (agencies page, platform page).

Whitespark's reporting lives inside each product: email updates, CSV or PDF exports, and a shareable results link that needs no account. White label is offered on some products only: shareable white-label links with password protection and a custom domain in Rank Tracker, white-label URLs in Ranking Grids, and white-label export on Citation Finder Agency plans and above. Whether these cost extra is not stated on the pages we read, and white label for Local Platform and Reputation Builder is not published.

Gaia has a multi-location dashboard with Search and Maps views, calls, website clicks and directions. White label is not part of Gaia. Client reporting is a separate Reports Package; see the Daedalus page, our separate reporting tool, which we do not compare feature by feature here.

AI and the Claude connector

BrightLocal's Local AI Visibility Tracker follows prompts in Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, 20 prompts per location, and it also offers AI assistance for review replies and post captions. Whitespark's Ranking Grids page says you can connect AI tools through MCP alongside a public API; that is the only AI feature we found on the Whitespark pages we read. BrightLocal's platform page names an MCP Server without giving details.

What Gaia adds is a free connector that works with Claude, with about 200 tools across Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics. You ask Claude to publish, schedule, reply or pull numbers, and the chat runs on your own Claude subscription. Exactly four tools spend Staters, and each states its cost first.

Which one should you choose?

Key takeaway

Choose BrightLocal for one self-serve suite, Whitespark for low-cost individual tools and citation work, and Gaia when Google Business Profile is the work.

  • Choose BrightLocal if you are an agency or a business with a handful to a few dozen locations, want one login and one bill, and need rank tracking, listing sync and reviews together.
  • Choose Whitespark if you want to buy one job at a time at a published price: citation research, rank tracking, grids, or review requests. It also fits if you want a done-for-you listings service.
  • Choose ZeusSEO Gaia if you spend your week posting, replying to Google reviews and editing profiles across many locations, and you want to do it through Claude.
  • Do not choose Gaia if you need citation building, non-Google listings, review requests by SMS or email, reviews from other sites, rank tracking or local grids.

Many teams mix tools. Using BrightLocal or Whitespark for rankings and citations, and Gaia for Google Business Profile work, is reasonable. Decide which tool owns each profile field, because two tools writing the same field can overwrite each other.
