BrightLocal vs Yext mostly comes down to size and how you buy. BrightLocal is a self-serve local SEO suite with public per-location prices, a two-week free trial, rank tracking, citations and review tools. Yext is a listings and reputation platform sold on custom quotes with no standard free trial (evaluation is by demo), built around 200+ direct publisher connections. For an agency or a business with a handful to a few dozen locations, BrightLocal is usually the easier fit. For a large brand that must keep hundreds of locations consistent across many publishers, Yext is built for that. We are ZeusSEO, so we add a third column, Gaia, our Google Business Profile tool. It does less than either rival on directories and review requests, and we say so below. We are biased, so every competitor claim links to its source.
BrightLocal vs Yext vs ZeusSEO Gaia at a glance
BrightLocal and Yext both go wider than Google: citations, listings networks and reviews from other sites. Gaia goes deeper on Google Business Profile only. Pick by where your clients actually need to be managed.

Pricing and free trial
You can price BrightLocal yourself in a few minutes. With Yext you need a quote, and there is no standard free trial; evaluation is by demo.
BrightLocal
BrightLocal publishes three plans, Track, Manage and Grow, and prices them by location band. For one location, annual billing starts at $31 a month on Track, $40 on Manage and $49 on Grow, with higher monthly-billing prices. Above 100 locations it is price on request. All of this is on its pricing page.
It also offers a two-week free trial with no credit card, confirmed on the agencies page. Its Citation Builder is a separate pay-per-citation service, so citation spend sits on top of a plan if you use it (details).
Yext
Yext says its pricing is custom, set by solution and location count, with no fixed public menu of tiers. Billing is typically annual, and longer commitments earn better rates. It also says there is no free tier and no standard free trial, and agencies do not get a distinct pricing model. All of that comes from its own FAQ. Contract length and cancellation terms are not published on the pages we read.
ZeusSEO Gaia
Gaia is part of our Local SEO Pack. Packs come with location, site and seat limits, and extra locations, seats or sites are stackable add-ons. AI actions spend Staters, which you buy separately in one-time packs. We do not list prices in this article, because they change; see current prices on the pricing page, where you can also start a free trial.
Google Business Profile management
If your day-to-day job is posting, replying and editing profiles across many locations, compare the Google Business Profile features first. That is the one area where Gaia competes head to head.
Posts
BrightLocal lets you schedule Google Business Profile posts and create a bulk post across two or more locations. Its own announcement also describes AI-generated captions (a June 2023 article). Scheduling sits in the Manage plan, and its platform page describes scheduling across multiple locations at once.
Yext's Social page describes localized posts for promotions, events and offers across every location, with AI drafts. It does not name Google Business Profile posts explicitly, so check with Yext before assuming native Google posting.
In Gaia you can publish now or schedule, edit or cancel queued posts, clone a post to many locations with an optional AI rewrite per location, import posts from a CSV or text file, and run recurring post campaigns. A calendar shows every scheduled post and photo across listings.
Reviews
BrightLocal's reputation tools let you reply to Google and Facebook reviews inside the app, monitor reviews from 80+ sites and use an AI assistant for drafts. They sit in the Grow plan (source). Yext monitors reviews from 80+ platforms, drafts replies with AI that you approve, and supports templates and rules (source).
Gaia covers Google reviews only. You get one feed across locations, reply, edit and delete, and AI reply drafts that you approve before anything posts. Spam-labelled reviews are blocked by default, and a failed reply is parked and retried. You can also bulk-reply from a reviewed CSV.
Photos and listing edits
Gaia uploads photos to many listings now or on a schedule, and edits names, hours, phone numbers, categories, website and description across listings, now or on a future date. Attributes, services and links are editable too, and every live write is logged. We did not find an equivalent bulk photo or hours editor described on the BrightLocal or Yext pages we read, but that is not proof they lack one, so ask during your trial or demo.
Listings, citations and reviews beyond Google
Yext's scale is its edge: 200+ direct publisher connections, the ability to update 10,000+ locations at once, and a verifier that finds duplicates and publisher overwrites (source). If consistency across many publishers is the job, Gaia is not the tool.
BrightLocal covers this in two ways. Active Sync pushes your data to Google, Apple Maps, Facebook, Bing and Yelp (US and Canada) in the Manage plan and up (source). Citation Builder sells citations on more than 1,000 sites and directories, paid per citation.
ZeusSEO does neither. Gaia manages Google Business Profile only: no citation building, no directory syndication, and no Apple Business Connect, Bing Places or Yelp management. If your clients need those, use BrightLocal or Yext for that layer and Gaia for Google.
Review requests are the same story. BrightLocal (Grow plan) and Yext both send review requests by email and by text or SMS, and both list QR codes. Gaia does not send requests; it gives you Google's own review link for each listing.
Reporting, white label and AI
BrightLocal bundles local rank tracking (up to 100 keywords and 4 competitors, across Google Search, Google Maps and Bing) and a Local Search Grid up to 15x15 (rank tracker, grid). Gaia has no customer-facing grid rank tracking, so BrightLocal wins here.
On the agency side, BrightLocal describes white-label reports with your own logo and colors and lists unlimited users per account (agencies page). It also describes franchise roll-up reports and integrations with GA4, Google Business Profile, Facebook and Zapier (platform page).
Yext reports on listings by publisher and location, including impressions, clicks, calls and directions, and has an Analytics product that unifies listing, review and search data. Its reseller program for agencies mentions white-label options, but we found no published terms or pricing, and we did not find branded client reports on the pages we read.
Gaia has a multi-location dashboard with Search and Maps views, calls, website clicks and directions. White label is not part of Gaia. Client reporting is a separate Reports Package; see the Daedalus page, our separate reporting tool, which we do not compare feature by feature here.
AI and the Claude connector
BrightLocal's Local AI Visibility Tracker follows prompts in Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, up to 20 prompts per location. Yext offers AI agents for reviews and benchmarks how your brand is cited in AI answers against local competitors (source). Those are real strengths that Gaia does not match.
What Gaia adds is a different kind of AI access: a free connector that works with Claude, with about 200 tools across Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics. You ask Claude to publish, schedule, reply or pull numbers, and the chat runs on your own Claude subscription. Exactly four tools spend Staters, and each states its cost first.
BrightLocal's platform page names an MCP Server without giving details, so check its current documentation before assuming parity with ours.
Which one should you choose?
Choose BrightLocal for a self-serve local SEO suite, Yext for large-scale publisher control on a custom contract, and Gaia when Google Business Profile is the work.
- Choose BrightLocal if you are an agency or a business with up to a few dozen locations, want public pricing and a free trial, and need rank tracking, citations and reviews together.
- Choose Yext if you run a large multi-location brand, need one source of truth pushed to 200+ publishers, and can buy through a sales process.
- Choose ZeusSEO Gaia if you spend your week posting, replying to Google reviews and editing profiles across many locations, and you want to do it through Claude.
- Do not choose Gaia if you need citation building, non-Google listings, review requests by SMS or email, reviews from other sites, or local grid rank tracking.
Many teams mix tools. Using BrightLocal or Yext for listings and rank tracking, and Gaia for Google Business Profile work, is reasonable. Just decide which tool owns each profile field, because two tools writing the same field can overwrite each other. How we compared
We read each vendor's official pages on October 20, 2026: pricing, platform, listings, reviews, agency and FAQ pages for BrightLocal and Yext. ZeusSEO facts come from our own product, not from a test of the competitors. We did not sign up for either rival or run side-by-side tests, and we have no customer results to show.
We are ZeusSEO, so we are biased, and you should check the sources below. Where a fact was unclear or came from an older article, we left it out or flagged it. Help-center articles for both vendors were not readable to us, so limits that live only there are not covered. Plans and features change, so confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.
